Captain:

Captain Dominique Gerardin and Captain Eric Pialles rotate during the calendar year.  Captain Gerardin is on board AXIOMA during the high summer season, Captain Pialles is on board during the winter high season.

Captain Dominique Gerardin, 46, French

Languages: English, French, Spanish and Italian

Dominique was born in Madagascar.  He studied Merchant Marine in France where he obtained his commercial license.  He spent one year in Antartica on a French polar expedition.  After that, he travelled in Southern Africa for many years, then stared hos yachting career in his 30's.

He has worked as a charter captain on Lady Mia, Free Spirit, Costa Magna, and Blue Harem.  He has more than 10 years experience as a charter captain in the Mediterranean.  He has extensive knowledge of the coastline and will bring guests to historical venues and secluded islands, which other travellers may be unfamiliar of.  Dominique is dynamic, adventurous, compassionate, and loyal.  Many of his crew has followed and joined him on his new yacht, Axioma.  He generally cares about people and does his utmost to fulfill their wishes.

Captain Eric Pialles, French, 44 years old

Languages: French, English, and Spanish

Eric was born in the South of France.  He has recently entered his 28th year at sea and is currently registered as an Unlimited Master Mariner.  Throughout his career, Eric has traveled around the world on private and charter yachts, cruise ships, ferries, passenger ships, dynamic positioning vessels, research vessels, and expedition vessels, only to name a few.  Among one of the expedition vessels was the Titantic Expedition in 1997, which collected not only the safe onbaord, but some of the world's finest champagnes.

Whether its teaching navigation to the French Merchant Navy or captaining motor yachts, you will always find Eric with a smile and an interesting story to go with it.  Eric welcomes you all onboard and looks forward to showing you exciting and fascinating cruising.
