Captain David Perry

Raised in Detroit, Captain Perry logged his boating experience on the fresh waters of Lake Michigan. His enthusiasm for cruising and genuine positivity bear a contagious effect on all those around him. As a construction developer and father of three in North Carolina, he is dedicated to hard work and devoted to his family. Onboard Cherokee Captain Perry’s pride in seamanship reflects a wealth of knowledge as well as a degree of kind-hearted patience uncommonly matched.

1st Mate Ware Smith

Growing up around an extended family of boaters, Ware has always been drawn to the water, but brief summer stays by the shores of North Carolina’s Outer Banks were but a prelude to his interest. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in French Language and Literature and a year of business study in Paris, he found Cherokee as the gateway to explore boating further afield. His pleasure in being on the water is seeing others enjoy it as much.
