Captain Julian Castillo:

Julian was the Captain of a Bertram sport fishing boat in Acapulco belonging to a sailing and boating aficionado from Mexico City who was also a member of the Newport Beach Yacht Club in Newport Beach, California. The Owner also had sailboats and raced.  Julian crewed with his owner in several Newport to Acapulco sailing races and crewed for other races and cruising in Mexican Pacific waters.

The owner had a very high level of appearance of his vessels and food and beverage preparation. Julian was with him for 20 years, ending on a Hatteras 60 sport fish.

Julian become the Captain of a 68 foot Bertram Cockpit Motor yacht. He remained on that boat from 1990 until 2008 when he came back to Captain SY JESS SEA. He refreshed his sailing skills with Cris Brodie from Auckland, NZ and is fully qualified on JESS SEA.

Julian makes the world’s best Ceviche! He is an expert on the Sea of Cortez and it’s hidden treasure spots.

Chef Mario: An excellent Mexican chef and does a variety with flavors from different parts of Mexico.
