Personally guided “snorkel safari’s” are Makayabella’s speciality and they come highly recommended because of their ability to find and identify not just the common species but also some of the more elusive and unusual fish and other sea creatures. Guests are able to use Johns underwater camera and download their photos on to a disc to take home.
Sleeps 6 in 4 cabins
Makayabella is a 62ft aluminium custom built yacht designed by Georges Auzept-Brenneau in the Trehard Boatyard in Antibes, France.
She was built especially for chartering and features an unusually large, uncluttered centre cockpit with comfortable, cushioned seating which is shaded from the sun. Side panels can be dropped to provide extra shade from sun or shelter from rain.
The stern cockpit houses the helm and all the winches and is covered by a separate bimini.
Below deck the saloon is furnished with bright coloured fabrics and has seating for 6 or 8 guests around the dining table. Two guest cabins have double beds and two guest cabins have twin beds. All cabins have their own en-suite shower room with electric toilet facilities. The crew has separate access to their own cabin and has their own en-suite shower and toilet.

MAKAYABELLA Testimonials
Makayabella : Extracts from the guest book
July 2011 family charter:
Thank you for a fantastic trip, we had the best snorkel /dive experience of my life. Fantastic trip!!! Best snorkelling and diving in a long while. Thank you for showing us all the great snorkel / dive sites. I had a wonderful time on your sailboat, the knee boarding and the banana rafting was one of the best water activities I have ever done, not to mention the snorkelling and scuba diving. It was phenomenal. Thank you so much!
April 2011 English Family:
Great anchorages + great snorkelling + great food + great company = great holiday! Thank you for a lovely week – we’ll be back!
The kids aged 9 and 11 – This week has been one of the most awesome holidays I have ever had. Best week ever.
Thank you John and Sue for giving me such a magnificent week. I don’t want to go home.
February 2011 Canadian couple:
We have never felt so pampered and spoiled in our lives. Our first experience of sailing was great. Thanks for showing us some out of the way places we would not otherwise have seen. Great sailing, fabulous food, a great time. And thanks for the wonderful snorkelling and pointing out so many species for us including the octopus and turtles.
Tony; A great holiday, both John and Sue have gone the extra mile to make it one to remember. On the first day I was wary of snorkelling, by today I am relaxed and enjoying it thanks to John’s encouragement and tuition. Getting up the first time on water ski’s was my highlight after a break of twenty years. ….. Hope we can come back soon.
Luke (14) ….. The highlight of the week had to be the snorkelling and being so close to the fascinating creatures especially the turtles……… The one place I’d recommend highly is Chatham Bay.
Alexander (11) I had a wonderful week aboard with John and Sue. My highlight was mastering the kneeboard. The snorkelling was fantastic with John and Sue pointing out the brilliant wildlife especially the stingray.
December 2010 English family of four:
Caroline; We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we climbed aboard. Great snorkelling, the highlight was the stingray……. Sue needs to write a cook book! I will definitely be at the front of the book signing.
